Once she receives her Associates degree in Biology Ellen plans to attend Life University to pursue a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. After establishing her career, Ellen plans to gain a certification in Equine Chiropractic Care.
Ellen has two sisters who are 9 & 5. She has seven horses, two dogs (Crush-Rhodesian Ridgeback & our newest edition Nemo- a 9 month old yellow lab- Thank you Ms. Jan for this awesome boy!) and many more animals. She was President of the Shelby County 4-H Horse Club and has shown and competed in the Southeast region. Ellen has also competed and placed in 4-H public speaking both on the state and regional levels. She has competed in many Rodeo Queen contests since the age of three and have held many titles including 2003 Junior Miss Rodeo Alabama.
Ellen enjoys riding and showing her American Paint and Quarter Horses. She also enjoys dancing, swimming and traveling.
This fall, Ellen will represent Alabama at the Miss Rodeo America pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ellen plans on spending this year in promoting the sport of rodeo and the morals and ethics that rodeo stands for. “Rodeo has long been a part of our Country’s heritage & I love nothing more than to share my love of God, Family and Pride of Country, which ultimately creates a fun, family atmosphere… Also known as RODEO!”, says Ellen. She is very thankful to her family, Southeastern Livestock Exposition and the Cattlemen’s Association for providing her the support and opportunity to represent the sport of rodeo and the beef cattle industry.
Ellen’s reign would not be possible without her sponsors. She talks greatly about the people that have helped her most to make this year possible. Please help to support her reign.
